|National Museum Singapore
It’s been sometime since I last went to a museum. Open space, white painting, exquisite (or not) paintings, drawings, artifacts, sculptures keeps me occupied momentarily. Personally I prefer art gallery to museum. At least I just need to muse around one painter and his works. However in a museum, It can get noisy and my thoughts are often obstructed by other influences. But I like it occasionally. A weekday. A scorching Wednesday afternoon, after a light meal and a cold Starbucks drink, you just want to run into a museum to enjoy the free air-con. And of course enjoy the art and whatever the venue has to offer.
Museums are reminders of our past and history. Sometimes I wonder whether the prompting necessary. We humans despite many remarkable achievements, we’ve done invidious thingamob to each other and the world. I say “WE” because all of us are connected to each other (remember six degrees of separation) and we are responsible directly or indirectly.
I sense this post have gone beyond my initial thought. Well I wanted to share the International Musuem celebrations in Singapore. Which only means free entrance to all major local museums, otherwise known as Open Days.
