Yesterday, the digital engagement team from work had a power lunch/meeting. We went to the Basilico restaurant at Regent Hotel Singapore. The Basilico serves fresh, seasonal and authentic Italian fare. We did see some local food in the buffet line, but no one bothered to go near. The interior of the restaurant is very relaxed with hints of luxury and sophistication. We were escorted to a quite corner, private room without door. We were offered sparkling or still water (not sure whether it’s included in the buffet price).
The cheese selection was fantastic. I particularly loved their smoked Mozzarella, Pecorino and Ricotta, I started off with a cheese platter with dried fig, guava, grapes and sultanas drizzled generously with truffle honey.
Main course was sautéed assorted mushrooms and gnocchi with truffle butter.(sorry no picture, busy talking and eating)
Overall lunch experience was good. Staff was attentive but not intrusive. Coffee came a bit late though. I will go back for a slow lunch date with friends and to sample more cheese.. The lunch buffet price $44+++
