At the movies with Presh – Barfi

Movie Review

Barfi! (hindi) – Plot: Set in d 70s, it depicts d love & journey of 3 individuals; a hear, speech impaired guy (ranbir), a girl suffering with autism (Priyanka) & a girl struggling between her heart & norms (Illeana). Love has been portrayed as sweet, funny, selfless, heart-breaking, unconditional. Perfect casting, I cant think of any other to play d leads. Ranbir’s expressions were great & he speaks loudly with his body language. Few outstanding scenes – when Barfi confronted Shruti outside her house, when Shruti meets Barfi for d 1st time in Kolkata, when Shruti visits Barfi & Jhilmil in their small home. Lotsa little expressions which catapult acting 2 a different level. Darjeeling has never been showcased better – cinematography was first-rate. Soulful music, in sync with d amazing mood of d film. This film’s a contribution to art. I had a smile on my face most of d 150 minutes.. This 1 is a rare experience. Norms do not apply when heart is in question. Tag along & enjoy d wonderful journey guys. D ending is a gift which all lovers wish for 🙂
