Even the Pope is Tweeting!

When I first heard Pope Benedict XVI is going to start tweeting , I was very curious and excited at the same time.  He is the one of the most influential religious leader in the world. The importance of Social Media is evident, especially it’s ability to reach the masses and transcend influence.  He did not just stop at tweeting but also took part in answering some questions from his followers. He responded to seven question over seven hours. Everything was planned and executed beautifully.

These accounts were launched about 11 days ago. Twitter confirmed it through their blog, His Holiness received ten of thousands of questions using hashtag – #AskPontifex , I’ve picked out some interesting ones to share with you!

Which is your favourite pie? [INFOGRAPHICS]

If turkey is the star of Thanksgiving dinner, then pie is most certainly the encore. America’s love affair with this golden-crusted treat has been well-documented in pop culture; in fact, a 2012 survey by NPR examined pie preferences and determined that, indeed, there is nothing more American than apple pie. Take a look to see which other pies Americans will leave room for on turkey day.

Rise of The Guardians – Boogeyman decided he wanna have some fun, he declare war against d Guardians. D Moonman appointed a new guardian to fight over evil. Hence, its Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Sandman & Jack Frost against Boogeyman. Good triumphs over evil. Boogeyman was smart to use fear & different tactics to defeat d Guardians in d beginning. However, childrens’ faith in magic kept d guardians strong till d final battle. D characters were amazingly represented.. u fell in love with them instantly. It was great to watch a movie on magic & faith; I’m beggining to feel d joy of d festive season now 🙂 Hohoho!

Talaash (hindi) – A suspense thriller it is.. D trailer portrayed d film as a cop drama. Yes.. d protagonist is a cop, but what he finds in d end isnt evidence material nor logical explanation; its an emotional experience which answers his questions. Aamir Khan was at his usual best, playing a cop investigating a mysterious accident, which trails back to a series of crime. Rani Mukherjee was superb as d frustrated yet hopeful wife, trying to mend their relationship, after loosing their son. Kareena Kapoor as d street walker, with a charm. Both d ladies were outstanding, d characters demanded such calibre. Kareena’s body language, dialogue delivery, screen presence were AMAZING! I shouldnt enclose d suspense here. Expect d unexpected… I was caught unaware when d truth unfolds. Get spooky guys…

Temple Of Fine Arts Presents Ramayana An Asian Cultural Confluence

With blessings of our Founder and Guide, His Holiness Swami Shantanand Saraswathi, the Temple of Fine Arts celebrates its 30th anniversary this year with a big bang production based on the ever relevant epic Ramayana.

The epic, a tale of principles and virtues is very relevant in today’s world deprived of the very ethos of it’s existence. A thread of sacredness runs through the characters (whether living or non-living) and their inter-relationships epitomized by Lord Rama’s depiction of Maryada-Purshottama – person of unsurpassed integrity and principles.

Ramayana – An Asian Cultural confluence is an attempt to highlight the relevance of this epic through the potent medium of the arts. A dance drama inspired by the art forms of all the places where Ramayana has a place in people’s hearts.

The subtle and overt inspirations of dance styles like Bharathanatyam, Odissi, Kathak, Balinese, Thai and Folk create a magic of its own in each rendition of this dance drama by the teachers and students of the institute. The surreal aura of this production has touched the hearts and souls of thousands across the globe for the last 20 years.

The grandeur of the decades old spectacular has been kept alive by a multi-generational troupe of dedicated volunteers giving this show a feel of divine longing. While costumes and backdrops artistically handcrafted by these very volunteers are awe inspiring the relentless effort of the backstage crew provide a technically class act each time.

As is the tradition of Temple of Fine Arts this arts production too is humbly presented with the sole motive of giving the audience joy and uplifting the soul, hence there will be no admission price for the priceless offering. However in the material world there is a cost to everything and so we would much appreciate your generous donations which will go a long way in keeping the spirit of “Arts, just for the love of it” alive for generations to follow.
